Key Expressions in This Lesson

오늘 걷는 네 곳에서 오가는 말은 몇 마디로 정해져 있습니다. 아래 여섯 문장은 좌우가 한 쌍의 대화가 아니라 각각 따로 익히는 문장입니다. 먼저 눈에 담고 본문으로 들어가십시오.
Only a few lines pass at the four stops on today’s walk. The two columns are not paired dialogue; each sentence is learned on its own. Take them in first, then move into the main text.

1. 학동공원, 데뷔 전 흔적이 남은 동네 공원
Hakdong Park, a Neighborhood Park with Traces of the Pre-Debut Days

 

학동공원은 지하철 7호선 학동역에서 걸어서 10분 거리에 있는 평범한 근린공원입니다. 연습생 시절 멤버들이 이 공원 그네에서 안무를 연습했다는 이야기가 알려지며 팬들의 첫 걸음지가 되었습니다. 안내판이 따로 없는 시민 공원이라 길을 물어야 닿습니다.
Hakdong Park is an ordinary neighborhood park a ten-minute walk from Hakdong Station on Line 7. It became a first stop for fans once the story spread that the members practiced choreography on the swings here during their trainee days. Nothing marks the spot, so you will need to ask your way.

▶어떻게 가요 하나면 서울 어디서든 길을 물을 수 있습니다.

 어떻게 가요 alone gets you directions anywhere in Seoul.

앞에 장소 이름만 바꿔 넣으면 됩니다. 발음이 자신 없으면 지도 화면을 보여 주며 여기 어떻게 가요라고 하면 그대로 통합니다.
Swap only the place name in front. If you are unsure of the pronunciation, show your map screen and say 여기 어떻게 가요, and it works.

공원 자체에는 표식이 없고 주민들이 쓰는 생활 공간입니다. 그네와 정자를 둘러볼 때는 조용히 다니는 편이 좋습니다.
The park has no markers and is a space local residents use every day. Keep it quiet as you look around the swings and the pavilion.

 

 

2. 유정식당, 강남 골목의 진짜 로컬 맛집
Yujeong Restaurant, a Genuine Local Favorite in the Backstreets

 

학동공원에서 걸어 나오면 도산대로28길에 유정식당이 있습니다. 간판에는 지리산황토골 토종흑돼지라고 적혀 있지만, 연습생 시절부터 오래 드나든 단골집으로 알려져 벽면이 팬들의 사진과 메시지로 채워져 있습니다. 대표 메뉴는 유정쌈밥과 흑돼지김치찌개, 흑돼지돌솥비빔밥입니다.
Walking out from Hakdong Park brings you to Yujeong Restaurant on Dosan-daero 28-gil. The sign reads Jirisan Hwangtogol Native Black Pork, but it is known as a regular haunt of the members from their trainee days on, and the walls are covered with photos and messages from fans. The signature dishes are Yujeong ssambap, black pork kimchi stew, and black pork hot stone bibimbap.

▶성함은 이름을 높여 부르는 말입니다.

 성함 is the polite word for a name.

가게에서 이름을 물을 때는 대부분 성함이라고 합니다. 이름이라는 단어만 알고 있으면 못 알아듣기 쉽습니다. 대기 명단에 적을 이름을 묻는 것이므로 짧게 답하면 됩니다.
Shops almost always use 성함 rather than 이름, so learners who know only the plain word often miss it. They want a name for the waiting list, so a short answer is enough.

영업시간과 휴무일은 자주 바뀌므로 방문 전에 네이버지도나 캐치테이블에서 확인하시기 바랍니다. 두 앱에서는 실시간 대기 상황도 함께 볼 수 있습니다.
Opening hours and closing days change often, so check Naver Map or CatchTable before you go. Both apps also show the wait in real time.

 

 

3. 갤러리카페 휴가, 옛 숙소가 카페로 남은 자리
Gallery Cafe Hyuga, a Former Dorm Turned Cafe

 

유정식당에서 다시 걸으면 논현로119길에 갤러리카페 휴가가 있습니다. 멤버들이 지내던 숙소를 개조한 카페로, 거실과 방 구조가 그대로 남아 있습니다. 팬이 아니어도 커피와 디저트를 즐기며 쉬어 갈 수 있는 조용한 주택가 카페입니다.
Walking on from Yujeong Restaurant leads to Gallery Cafe Hyuga on Nonhyeon-ro 119-gil. It was renovated from a dorm the members once lived in, and the living room and bedroom layout remains. Even if you are not a fan, it is a quiet residential cafe to rest in over coffee and dessert.

▶해도 돼요는 허락을 구하는 틀입니다.

 해도 돼요 is the frame for asking permission.

동사에 아도, 어도를 붙이고 돼요를 이으면 됩니다. 답은 네 또는 죄송합니다로 돌아옵니다. 먼저 묻고 나서 찍는 순서만 지키면 어디서든 통합니다.
Attach 아도 or 어도 to the verb and add 돼요. The answer comes back as 네 or 죄송합니다. Ask first, then shoot, and it works anywhere.

숙소를 개조한 공간이지만 다른 손님이 함께 쉬는 카페이기도 합니다. 방 구조를 찍을 때는 사람이 함께 담기지 않는지 살펴보는 편이 좋습니다.
It is a converted dorm but also a working cafe with other guests. When photographing the rooms, check that no one else is in the frame.

 

 

4. 가로수길까지, 강남 로컬 산책으로 이어지는 동선
On to Garosugil, Completing the Gangnam Local Walk

 

갤러리카페 휴가에서 15분 남짓 걸으면 신사동 가로수길에 닿습니다. 은행나무가 늘어선 거리를 따라 편집숍과 카페, 갤러리가 이어지는 강남의 대표 산책로입니다. 가게에 들어서면 오가는 말이 대체로 정해져 있습니다.
About a fifteen-minute walk from Gallery Cafe Hyuga brings you to Garosugil in Sinsa-dong. Boutiques, cafes, and galleries line the ginkgo-lined street, one of Gangnam’s signature walking routes. Once you step into a shop, the lines exchanged are largely set.

▶그냥 볼게요는 거절이 아니라 인사에 가깝습니다.

 그냥 볼게요 is closer to a greeting than a refusal.

가게에 들어가면 점원이 도와드릴까요라고 먼저 말을 겁니다. 이때 그냥 볼게요라고 답하면 점원이 물러서 주고, 그다음부터는 편하게 둘러보면 됩니다.
Staff usually open with 도와드릴까요 when you walk in. Answer 그냥 볼게요 and they step back, and you can browse at your own pace.

학동공원과 유정식당, 갤러리카페 휴가는 모두 이 가로수길과 하나의 동선으로 이어집니다. 반나절이면 충분하고, 저녁에 도착하면 조명이 켜진 거리를 마무리 코스로 걸을 수 있습니다.
Hakdong Park, Yujeong Restaurant, and Gallery Cafe Hyuga all connect into one route with Garosugil. Half a day is enough, and arriving in the evening lets you close with the lit-up street.

 

 

5. 오늘 걷는 순서와 그 자리의 한마디
Today’s Route and One Line for Each Stop

 

네 곳을 순서대로 이으면 반나절 코스가 됩니다. 학동공원에서 시작해 유정식당에서 끼니를 해결하고, 갤러리카페 휴가에서 쉬었다가 가로수길에서 마무리하는 흐름입니다. 자리를 옮길 때마다 쓰는 말은 따로 있습니다.
Linking the four stops in order makes a half-day course. Start at Hakdong Park, eat at Yujeong Restaurant, rest at Gallery Cafe Hyuga, and finish on Garosugil. Moving between the stops has its own set of lines.

▶오늘 문장 가운데 셋만 고르면 어떻게 가요, 찍어도 돼요, 얼마예요입니다.

 If you keep only three of today’s lines, make them 어떻게 가요, 찍어도 돼요, and 얼마예요.

길을 묻고, 허락을 구하고, 값을 묻는 세 가지가 여행 중 가장 자주 쓰입니다. 장소와 동사만 바꿔 끼우면 강남 밖에서도 그대로 통합니다.
Asking directions, asking permission, and asking the price come up most while traveling. Swap the place and the verb and they work outside Gangnam too.

대답까지 함께 외워 두면 그 자리에서 들리는 말이 달라집니다. 묻는 문장만 알면 대답을 놓치고, 대답을 알면 되묻지 않아도 됩니다.
Learning the reply along with the question changes what you can catch on the spot. Know only the question and you miss the answer; know the answer and you do not have to ask twice.

 

강남은 화려한 거리로만 알려져 있지만, 골목 하나를 들어서면 공원과 식당과 카페가 이어지는 생활의 자리가 나옵니다. 오늘 걸은 네 곳에서 익힌 문장은 그 자리를 벗어나도 계속 쓰입니다.
Gangnam is known for its polished streets, but step into one alley and you find a lived-in stretch of park, restaurant, and cafe. The sentences you picked up at today’s four stops keep working long after you leave them.
